LA Fitness monthly fee?

So I recently paid my monthly fee of $34.99 in cash for LA Fitness. I checked my bank account this morning and it says LA Fitness took out $34.99. I'm confused right now. I paid my monthly fee in cash. Why would they take out money from my bank account? Can someone explain this to me?
