Can I get a tax credit for taking a course that is not required by my employer but will enhance my career?

I am a full time fitness instructor. I recently enrolled in a yoga certification course so that I can teach yoga as well. My employer did NOT require me to take this course, but I did anyway in order to enhance my education so that I can add yoga to the list of classes that I teach. Can I deduct the course fee from my taxes?
