Looking to go thru Swift's CDL Training Academy, probably the one in TN..What to expect?

do you already have your CDL? if so as far as orientation ( i went with Werner Enterprise ) its normally 2 days long first day is all paper work make sure you can work with them and learn about the company 2nd day is more company policy and a physical and drug test. you'll bunk with another driver in a hotel but for 20-40bucks more you can get your own room, thats what i did. you can request a man or woman driver smoker or non company driver or owner operator, just note that requesting specifics could take some time to get a trainer in the area to pick you up. breakfast at werner hotel was free contenental. im not sure what is near Swifts hotel but im sure they have a shuttle van to run you to the stores if they are far away as Wern did. as far as useing a power converter im not sure i did my truck was not equiped with an APU(auxellry power unit) but make sure you dont run the batterys down. you can talk to your driver manager during training and if you dont like or get along with your trainer you can request another, hope this help out
